CS Techstaff understands that there is an occasional need for CS alumni to access old data in their home directory, even after graduation. To that end, an alum may access the server via ssh to alumni.cs.uchicago.edu in the same manner that CS department systems were previously accessed, as in the following example.

The alumni system is directly connected to the Internet and so no jump server connectivity or VPN is required to access it.

However, the alumni server provides only very limited access to other tools and network services. We only expect alumni.cs users to only use our resources to access their old data in their home directory.
